Tarangire Day Trip

Pickup from Arusha town, drive to Tarangire National park for a day game view. The Park is about 120kms south of Arusha, which covers an area of 2,600km ². It is unrivalled landscape of open plains, dotted with thousands of baobabs trees, the grasslands and the never dries Tarangire River which provides the only permanent water for wildlife in the area

The Crater is the world’s largest unbroken caldera stretching to 19.2km in diameter, 610meter deep and 304 square km in area, which hosts varieties of animals includes BIG FIVE Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant, others are Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena and more.

Here expect to see game such as buffaloes, giraffe, Monkeys, and elephants. Break off for refreshment and lunch at the picnic site. After lunch continue with game drive to Momella Crater/Momella Lakes for bird watch and depending with the season you might see flamingoes. Late evening, drive back to Arusha.

Manyara is a bird paradise with more than 400 species, especially waterfowl, the pink-hued flamingos, spoonbills, stilts, egrets, pelicans, cormorants and yellow-billed storks and many migrant’s birds. It is rightly famous for its tree-climbing lions, but also for its boisterous baboons.

Depart from Arusha approx. 3hrs drive/Moshi town about 45minutes drive, head to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Register at the park office, and then start hiking through rain forest to the upper edge of the forest.

At the village, we will visit the Chagga cultural centre, visit caves where the Chagga people hide during the war; you will be guided to descend to the caves while the guide narrating the history. In the village, you will also see the traditional Chaga houses
