Depart from Arusha approx. 3hrs drive/Moshi town about 45minutes drive, head to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Register at the park office, and then start hiking through the forest to the upper edge of the forest. Lunch will served on the way if the weather allows, stretch to Mandara Camp approximate hiking is 3 – 4 hours. Reach Mandara Huts and explore the camp which is rich with wildlife such as black and white colobus monkeys, birds, and massive trees, here you will meet other hikes.
After a short tour at the camp starts to stretch to Maundi Crater about 15 minutes away, the trail passes through a short stretch of forest. On the rim of Maundi, the weather has to be clear for the best views. On a clear day, you’ll have magnificent views that stretch all the way to Kenya as the rim is close to the northern border of Tanzania and Kenya. Take some photos and descend to Marangu gate to transfer to the hotel for a shower
